Super Falcons beat Australia 3-2 to put one leg in 2nd round

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have defeated co-hosts Australia 3-2 at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons who went behind towards the end of the first half, recovered with goals from Uchenna Kanu, Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala.

While the Australians scored a stoppage time goal to set off a nervy finish, the Nigerian team held on for a famous win.

The victory means that the Nigerian side now has four points, level with Canada and are in pole position to make the second round.
