APGA Fires Back at APC Chairman Ganduje’s Criticism of Anambra State’s Political Affiliation

In a swift response to Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who criticized Anambra State for remaining politically aligned with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Ejimofor Opara, defended the state’s stance, highlighting its progressive track record.

Ganduje had asserted during the South-East APC colloquium in Nnewi that Anambra’s political disconnection from the centre, exemplified by its allegiance to APGA, hindered its progress.

However, Opara countered Ganduje’s claims, emphasizing that despite being a minority party, Anambra has outperformed many states purportedly aligned with the centre. He pointed out that Ganduje’s tenure in Kano saw significant dissent, leading to a massive rejection of the APC during the 2023 elections.

Addressing Ganduje’s remarks, Opara stated, “The APC is virtually non-existent in Anambra, and the continued prevalence of APGA in the state is due to its performance-based governance.” He highlighted the progressive trajectory of Anambra under APGA leadership, citing achievements in areas like ICT deployment and education.

Furthermore, Opara criticized the transformation of the APC colloquium into a political rally, culminating in the announcement of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as the party’s candidate for the upcoming election. He deemed it inappropriate for a purported intellectual forum to devolve into a partisan affair.

In conclusion, Opara affirmed Anambra’s commitment to remaining disconnected from the centre if it meant upholding its principles of good governance and progress under APGA leadership.
